Do you use RL as inspiration for your FF?

I can think of a couple things that I {consciously} wrote up into my stories, other than the occasional sex snippet heh ;-) Like the scene in the J2 fic "Love story of Inanimate Objects" where a lost-in-thought Kyra steps on a burning cigarette stub, barefoot.. I did that once. Hurt like hell :D The incident in the X-Men series "In the beginning" where Scott is throwing up stretched out across Logan's lap and naughty Logan uses the opportunity to feel the poor boy up - okay its a little funny now but back when I was a teenager and still new to booze, I sure didn't appreciate getting groped in the middle of a barf-attack heh. Hm, what else.. the SPN story Webster was written for my very dear friend Vince who'd been forced to give away his cat (also called Webster) after discovering he was allergic :( I loved the Renaissance Mayflower hotel in DC so much I decided to set Shipwrecked (J2) in there. In "Won't let Texas get in the way", the neat little trick Harley does, grabbing beer out of an icebox - a dog I once knew could do that. *sighs*

Yeah.. immortalized some of my most memorable memories in fanfiction, I have. Apologies for channeling Yoda. I'd really love to hear some of your real-life inspirations?

No RL inspirations from me, just wanted to say hi and say I was actually thinking about you last night - I couldn't sleep (pains been a bitch) and re-read one of my old favourites, Of Hot Showers and Female Intuitions.

Hope you are well. x

Awww thank you sweetie!!! I'm glad there is repeat value in something I wrote hehe :) How are you?!?! *hugs* I'm drinking so its all good :D

Hee! Yoda!Cyn :)

I'm trying to think of any bits I've specifically written that were straight from my life and off the top of my head I'm drawing a blank. I want to say I have, but it's been such a long day I can't remember which I used.

I do know that I tend to use friend's first names for characters. Particularly if I knoew that they like the movie/show/book I'm writing in for fandom. It just makes me happy to name cool OCs after cool people I know :)

Putting your friends into your fics!! That IS cute! :) I bet it makes them happy too hon :D:D

Fun Yoda is :)

I do that quite often with my writing, I find it's always easier to write something you know about or experienced, and somehow things that happen to me end up in my writing sometimes without me even realizing it!

I know right? I explored the Renaissance Mayflower for like a whole two weeks and don't know why, I started to imagine hooker!Jared in there, walking around feeling lost and out of place, running into confident uber-rich CEO!Jensen. That's how the idea for Shipwrecked came from hehe.
Hear ya about the subconscious writing. I think that happens to most writers, amateur or otherwise :)

I think that is soo cool, that you have incorportated real life to your fanfiction.. though am sorry you got groped while barfing... :) I dont write fanfic :( not too much of an imagination I guesss, and now I have to go read : "I wont let Texas get in the way"... cuase i forgot how much i loved that story so now i have to go an remind mysef :P that and the little princess is alseep for once without screaming for hours so that means......... FF READING NIGHT... YEYEYYEYEYEY... ITS the little things that make me happy :P

Hehe :) I'm so glad you enjoy reading my stories sweetie. And now I'm thinking of blowing off work tomorrow (yep, was planning to work weekend, gah!) and do nothing but catch up on some FF reading myself :) Any new stuff you could recommend?

Oh Yes... i just finished reading a story called This Hell we've made by http://bewaretheides15.livejournal.com/ .... its got an xmen sort of twist to it.. but we our beloved Jared and jenses.. I enjoyed it so much I made a pdf... Let me know if you want me to email it to you.. I hope you enjoy it...

I don't think I've ever used 'events', at least not consciously, but I've certainly tuned in to emotions and experiences to add to certain FF (I'm thinking specifically of Rescue Pup, where I've never been in an abusive relationship but survived childhood abuse, so while Tony's past experiences are different, the feelings are similar). I also tend to use kinks/sexploits that I've experienced in rl in order to keep it real - again, the pup play, multiple orgasm/rapid refractory times, etc. I guess also, my rl experiences colour the kind of overall 'happy ending' feel that I tend to go for where someone finds the one(s) they've been needing to complete them.

Hmm.

Also, I nearly never replied...I was too busy drooling over your Tony!icon ;)

Nate

Yeah I hear ya. I know FF-writing is an act of catharsis for many writers who've had abusive pasts themselves. But I believe one doesn't necessarily have to go through something themselves to do justice to it. Of course sex is a huge exception :D I bet you must have laughed at the inaccuracies in some of my m/m sex scenes hehe :D:D

Oh hon don't even get me started on Tony!!:D:D I'm so completely and hopelessly in love with this show and this character and with Michael Weatherly.. don't care about about anything else anymore. Just want me some hotness-overload that's Tony!!! :)
